Spacious but needs a facelift
We stayed for a night in December. The room was massive, which was a nice change from tiny Japanese hotels. The onsen has some great views, but the food? Not worth the price! The buffet was lukewarm at best, and there’s no bar for a chill drink. Definitely too far from the action, though.

great access to takayama's cultural gems and serene parks
During my stay, I loved being just a short walk from the historic sanmachi suji and took a leisurely stroll to the hida takayama art and festa forest, where the beautiful scenery is perfect for a relaxing afternoon. the hotel also offers spacious rooms that are ideal for families seeking comfort and space while exploring the area, but the air conditioning system could use some improvement as I found my room a bit chilly at times.

The outdated design and poor bathtub safety raise serious concerns!!! A proper espresso bar is a much-needed upgrade!!!

Not for the average traveler but has its charm
The hotel has beautiful views that really calm your nerves and they have a decent onsen that helps wash away your troubles after a long day. Plus, the staff were polite when we needed help settling in.
It wasn't inexpensive but it was still acceptable for what you get.

would have stayed for longer
The spacious room had a large window with nice views, was equipped with free toiletries, a fridge, and a flat-screen TV. The onsen was incredible, offering various baths with stunning mountain views. The shuttle service to town was super handy. Breakfast had tasty pastries but the dinner buffet wasn't worth the price. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I loved the traditional vibe of my Japanese-style room, and the onsen was such a relaxing experience after a long day of exploring. I also enjoyed the open-air bath while soaking in the beautiful views. Just a heads up, the breakfast can get super busy, so you might want to go a bit later to avoid the rush. 😊
